Verdict
Emperor Ross had been shaping up as one of the leading novices of the summer but he was probably overfaced in the Summer Grand National at Uttoxeter where he departed after an uncharacteristically bad blunder at the 14th fence. If he has got over that spill, even off this welter burden, he looks a different class to his rivals. Free to Run goes well for his lady jockey but has plenty to find on the book and looks booked for the forecast slot. Lucky Time is plenty exposed at selling grade and does not look one to trust implicitly. Joey Dunlop makes his British debut following a couple of performance in Irish chases.
