Green 'n' Gold can follow up her recent success to account for Salinas and Kitski in the opening event on the card. Just the five runners have been declared here, and Green 'n' Gold certainly appears to be the best of them judged on her winning effort at Cartmel last month. Mickey Hammond's charge took a keen hold early on but managed to keep up the gallop all the way round to outstay Red Nose Lady. She had been tuned up with a run on the Flat at Pontefract earlier, and although she is only moderate herself, should be the one to beat again. Ex-German Salinas also scored at Cartmel in August but that was on softer ground, and in addition he may not be as effective at this trip. Kitski looked very one paced when beaten at Market Rasen on his last start in May and will need the run, while the other two are very hard to fancy. All in all, Green 'n' Gold has the best chance despite being no world-beater herself.
