Verdict

In a very open seller to begin proceedings at Exeter, Droumleigh House gets the call over Polish Legend, Curragh Gold and Blazeaway. Droumleigh Lad will bid to carry a seven-pound penalty to victory here after winning a similar event at Fontwell, and his chance has to be respected on the basis that he has proven that he can win at this level, and this is not a strong contest. Accordingly, he gets the vote, but it's a far from confident one. Polish Legend is only four pounds above a winning mark and, accordingly, is also entitled to go well if on song, while Curragh Gold, who will be fit after a recent Flat run, was third off a three-pound higher mark at Taunton in March, and can also have a case made for him. With Spectacular Hope and Blazeaway dropping to selling company for the first time, Sammagefromtenesse looking more like his old self back on the Flat last time, and Richard Johnson catching the eye as a booking for the very lightly-raced Replacement Pet, the view that this is very open is further endorsed. Accordingly, we suggest that you keep a close eye on the betting but, without the benefit of that information, we will give a tentative vote to Droumleigh House.
