Verdict
Without a win since this time last year Susan's Dowry shaped as though she was on the way back last time, when staying on into third behind Broughton Zest at Lingfield. She looked to be given plenty to do that day and more positive tactics here should see her in a better light. Mallard would have a chance if he could reproduce his beating of Noble Locks back in the Spring, but he has struggled since then and has plenty to prove over this trip. Ride The Tiger was the only one to make a race of it with Interstice earlier this week and if none the worse for his effort, must go well. He should have nothing to fear from Bahamian Heir, who was well held back in fourth, but that was the latter's first outing since September and he is sure to strip sharper here. However, the selection is the old man of the party Inch Perfect, who has been hurdling without success. When last seen on the All-Weather here back in 2000, Richard Fahey's game campaigner was a solid third to Your Special, off a mark of 75, but while he probably isn't as good as he was, he still looks well treated off an 8lbs lower mark.
