      Verdict

      This looks set to be fought out by those at the top of the handicap. Miss Holly took a while to lose her maiden tag and finally got off the mark in a low grade handicap at Catterick. She will not be inconvenienced by this stiffer track and she must go well, while Spitfire Bob is respected, but he has something to prove at this trip. A similar comment applies to Escalade, the winner of five races, all over a mile. Active Account looks the one to be with. Heather Dalton does well with her small flat string and Active Account looked as though he was ready for a step up in trip, after finishing strongly over the extended 8-furlongs at Wolverhampton last month.
