In depth

Verdict

Just five runners for this conditions event and a narrow vote is given to St Philip[, Codeword and Rabbit Fighter appear to be the main threats. Ralph Beckett's colt won at the second time of asking, comfortably beating Opera Music at Salisbury. There should be plenty more to come and he looks the best option here. Codeword was successful on his debut before running fourth behind the well regarded Big Timer. He tired very quickly on that occasion so it may not have been his true running and he could go close if handling the surface. Rabbit Fighter is the most exposed runner in the line up but has taken on some decent opposition and can't easily be discounted. Tombi and New Beginning make up the field and may struggle, which brings us back to our selection, St Philip.
