        Verdict

        Distant Cousin has been in a rich vein of form recently, winning twice here and once at Lingfield in the last two months, but racing off an 18lb higher mark than on the first of those occasions it may be that the handicapper now has his measure. The consistent High Policy should once again be thereabouts, as should River Of Fire. Michael Chapman's Rainbow River has claims on the form shown when winning a 1m3f handicap here last month but a combination of a longer trip and higher mark may prove to be his undoing. There seems to be no end to the downward spiral of the career of Minadao, who is now with Ian Williams, although he is better treated now than for some time. The TEAMtalk selection, though, is Flownaway. The Willie Jarvis-trained gelding escaped a penalty for his success here over 1m4f last week as that came in an apprentice race. The longer trip should not prove top be a hindrance as the son of Polar Flacon gave every indication that day that a longer trip would suit and he looks the one to be on in the finale.
