In depth
Verdict
A desperate contest, even by all-weather standards, in which any investment is probably best kept to the minimum. Among those worthy of a mention are. Larky's Lob is better treated than most on official BHB ratings but has shown very little since winning a couple of sellers here as a two-year-old. Ian Semple's Valuable Gift ran well enough over this trip at Wolverhampton behind Fiamma Royale in August to have a chance, while On The Trial who was beaten behind the same horse the following month is a consistent performer in this grade. Paul Howling's Feast Of Romance, who at least proved to be good enough to win an admittedly similarly weak contest at Wolverhampton last week, and for who Jimmy Quinn has been booked. Czar Wars, who is 1lb better off with the Howling horse for one-and-three-quarter lengths has to be respected, especially over the shorter trip. He gets the TEAMtalk vote.
