Verdict
Caroubier has not been setting the world alight over hurdles recently but is fit and has plenty in hand over his rivals here on official BHB ratings and gets the vote over Theatre Tinka and Platinum Charmer. The last mentioned has yet to prove his effectiveness over today¿s trip but has been running over further and Kevin Ryan¿s gelding may appreciate the drop in trip. He has to be respected along with the Reg Hollinshead-trained Theatre Tinka, who comes here reasonably fresh but has yet to race on the all-weather and an ability to handle the track has to be taken on trust. Toro Bravo has failed to progress since his win in a Wolverhampton maiden a year ago but has claims at the weights. Radiant Bride ran a fair race in a Wolverhampton handicap last time and has to be respected off her lightweight but in all reality she needs to improve considerably to trouble the selection Caroubier. The Ian Williams-trained gelding was claimed out of Harry Cyzer¿s stable after finishing second in a Newmarket claimer in July and has had four runs over hurdles for his new connections since then, his only win coming in a juvenile novices¿ event at Warwick last month. A winner here when with Jamie Osborne, Caroubier is better on the all-weather than on turf and looks well up to taking this.
