Verdict
Gravardlax is given a tentative vote over Broughton Knows, with Newtonian also worth a mention. Gravardlax is one of the younger brigade here and lines up having had just eight career starts so far. One of those was at Kempton in the Easter Stakes in which he was last of seven, and although the step up in trip has not paid off so far, this drop in grade may well see him open his account. Broughton Knows is far more experienced at the age of seven and all his winning form has been on an artificial surface. This is his level and he will no doubt play a part in proceedings again, but meets a more scopey rival in the selection. Newtonian was having his first outing since January when fourth at Catterick in October but is highly likely to need this as well, while Go Green in contrast has had a very busy year and even ran over hurdles last time, again without success. The drop to this grade should help Gravardlax to open his account.
