Verdict
Romil Star lines up in top form and gets the vote over Pure Mischief, Maniatis and Caspian Dusk in the claimer. Romil Star is a versatile performer, having won both on the Flat and over hurdles, and in addition has proved that he can score on the fibresand here as well. Although only plating class, Karl Burke's seven-year-old has nothing to fear from today's opposition, the best of who may be Pure Mischief who failed in his hat-trick bid when beaten at Newcastle. Two reasons for not siding with him though-he really needs testing conditions on Turf to be seen at his best, and has disappointed badly on his two previous visits here. Maniatis has won here before though and will find this a lot easier than when beaten in a class C handicap at York last time. He looks to be the main danger, while the consistent Caspian Dusk, the only three-year-old in the line-up, is also worth a mention as he has more scope than most. For the winner we return to the in-form Romil Star.
