Verdict

A trappy affair despite lack of numbers and PERSIAN PERIL is the selection with High Ambition and Lucky Punt worthy of consideration. The gelding ran a stormer at York on his latest start and while this assignment does involve him attempting to score off his highest ever mark; course form counts for plenty and he has it in the locker. High Ambition comes here after two solid runs at Pontefract. He appears to get on well with Frederick Tylicki hence his booking here. Lucky Punt has been a moneyspinner for connections. He made all to win here last time and will attempt to repeat the dose off a 2lb higher mark. Snoqualmie Boy was rated well into three figures a few seasons ago though invariably finds one too good even off the most helpful of marks. Mannlichen has clearly had training troubles though the fact that this maiden is still based at Kingsley House suggests that he must have some latent ability. Ours was close up last time out and is sure to be thereabouts again. Persian Peril has to be the pick.
