In depth
Verdict
Beady had been a gross disappointment for his followers and having got beat at odds-on, he finally found his form under an apprentice to post a ready win at 9/1 last time out. It is not out of the question that he could go in again but he does look to be something of a character. We will side with top-weight Crunchy. The horse bolted up from an unfavourable draw over 1m3f and was probably one of the most convincing winners of the season thus far. The handicapper has had little choice in putting him up 14lb but this may not be enough to stop him going in again. Mai Tai hacked up in a truly desperate seller. He will need to do more today although the booking of Sam Beddoes is a positive. Caernomore would be of interest if the market speaks positively. Noble Cyrano hails from a shrewd yard and would be thereabouts if he is able to transfer his turf form to the artificial surface. Evezio Rufo is in the last chance saloon after a miserable reappearance last time out.
