Verdict
This is quite simply a dire contest, with only two of the 10 runners having even been placed of late. As such, bets are definitely best kept to a minimum, with Wittily and Tommy Nutter put up as the two to concentrate on. Diamond Racket will find this company a bit easier than the company he has kept and might be one to consider as well. Wittily was beaten in a photo at Beverley in August and would have a major chance on that piece of form. However, Tommy Nutter has been the more consistent, if that is the word and so gets the nod. Roy Brotherton's charge was fancied last time after his short-head defeat the time before. The fact that he disappointed emphasises that this is a weak event, but he is more likely than most to prevail.
