River Beauty sets the standard in this Mares' Maiden Hurdle but with her possibly vulnerable to an improver we turn to MARTHA ELIZABETH with Be My Light also making some appeal. An improver in all three runs over timber the selection looked like a winner in waiting when runner up last time out. The booking of Tony McCoy looks to be a signal of intent and further progression should be forth coming. River Beauty placed in four bumper runs but since having a year-and-a-half off hasn't repeated that level of form over obstacles. That said this race isn't that strong and a return to those bumpers efforts give her good claims. Be My Light brings some decent enough bumper form to his hurdles debut but he has looked like he needs a trip and this might be on the sharp side. Timoca was useful on the level but didn't impress on his hurdles bow last time. His yard, though, have been on form and we can expect some improvement. An intriuguing contest but Martha Elizabeth has been progressive and that should continue here.
