In depth
Verdict
Khanjar, Wahoo Sam and Kings Empire all have claims in a very tricky event, but we will take a chance on Red Contact. The selection was beaten by Wahoo Sam over course and distance earlier this month, going down by just three-quarters of a length. There is little change in the weights this afternoon but Red Contact is very lightly raced and should improve past that rival. Khanjar's last visit here ended in victory when he landed a classified event back in August. He has performed with plenty of credit since at Lingfield and Wolverhampton and could be the main threat to the selection. King Empire is the another one to consider, he ran no sort of race behind Wahoo Sam last time, but had previously beaten today's rival Templet in good style and a repeat of that effort would see him vying for a place. Nimello and Najaaba are certainly not out of it on their best form, but Red Contact has the most scope for improvement and gets the vote
