In depth
Verdict
On ground that he appreciates this should be a fairly straightforward task for Guignol Du Cochet, who can land the prize from Thyne Man and Winter Gale. The selection is well ahead of his rivals on official ratings, generally jumps well, and has won over this trip under rules. His defeat last time was over half a mile shorter than this and the return to three miles will be in his favour, so he gets the confident vote. Thyne Man makes only his second start in hunter company but should appreciate the sound surface and ran well for a long way at Bangor before tying up on the run-in. A furlong shorter should help him get home and he can make the frame. Another capable of doing that is Winter Gale. The Strong Gale gelding will also like it sound underfoot, gets the trip well and despite being a bit one paced he looks good enough to take home some prize money, but for the winner we need look no further than Guignol Du Cochet.
