In depth
Verdict
Bohemian Spirit, Cantarinho and Caught At Dawn will all have their supporters in this novices' hunters' chase, but we will make Bengal Bullet our tentative selection. The 7-year-old comfortably won a moderate contest at Exeter last time and with the step up in trip in his favour here, he looks the one to beat. Bohemian Spirit rates the main danger as he won in impressive style when defeating Star Of Raven at Aintree last week. He is clearly on the upgrade and will push our selection all the way. Cantarinho won in fair fashion at Huntingdon earlier this month when defeating Find Me Another. He will have his supporters here but the suspicion is that this might just stretch his stamina and for that reason we are happy to take him on. Caught at Dawn has shown plenty of promise so far in point-to-points and he could be interesting if the market speaks in his favour as he is clearly well-regarded. Of the remainder, Mrs B and Star Of Raven have shown a fair level of form and have the services of Polly Gundry and Niall Saville respectively, so it would be no surprise to see them go well, but for the winner we return to Bengal Bullet.
