In depth

Verdict

Veteran Cruchain hasn't shone here in the past and would have preferred a quicker surface. Roc De Guye is looking a light of former days but six-times point-to-point winner Play The Ace is interesting switching to handicaps and today's going won't present a problem for the consistent Pembroke House, who holds Lakeshore Lady on the form book. The booking of Richard Johnson for MART LANE could be significant as Sophie Leech's charge has plummeted down the weights over the last two years and will have needed his comeback run at Cartmel.
