In depth

Verdict

Massini's Dream has never won but had some smart form last year and has gradually dropped to a mark she should be capable of winning from, especially with a claimer on board. Layerthorpe has won two handicaps at this level on good ground and hasn't been harshly treated so would have an obvious chance providing the ground doesn't get too soft. VIKING RUBY went up 7lb for scoring here in October and was in touch when falling at the last at Fakenham last month. Compensation awaits as though Tactical Manoeuvre scored at Exeter last week he had to drop down to 2m2f. Akkapenko completed a double in minor handicaps before a disappointing run at Chepstow.
