In depth
Verdict
Paul Nicholls’ bumper horses boast an excellent strike-rate and NEW GUARD is by proven NH sire Kayf Tara and a half-brother to two winners. First Lord De Cuet is a winning pointer making his debut under Rules and David Pipe’s charge should be in the firing-line. Perfect Predator was runner-up on good ground at Ludlow last month and that experience should stand him in good stead.
