Verdict
Royal Power showed enough at Bath on a softer surface last time to suggest that a race of this nature would be within his compass and Mick Channon's colt is taken to open his account at the main expense of Turn Me On and Myths And Verses. The last mentioned has shown promise in all three starts and looks the pick of Tim Easterby's two runners ahead of newcomer Bolden. Triskaidekaphobia has run to a similar standard in his two outings so far and should be thereabouts again, while Beautiful South showed improved form at Beverley last time and has claims if able to reproduce the form of that run. Our Sheila makes most appeal among the newcomers but a bigger threat is likely to come from Michael Bell's Turn Me On, who showed promise on his all-weather debut at Lingfield and now encounters turf for the first time. The vote though goes to Royal Power, who probably ran better at Bath last time than was thought at the time and he is taken to open his account.
