          Verdict

          Acomb and Oscar Pepper can shock the in-form combination of Border Artist and Cryfield in a difficult race. Acomb hails from the Mick Easterby stable and is ideally drawn tonight. While his recent efforts have been expensive to follow for his supporters, he looks unquestionably better than his form figures suggest. Kevin Darley takes the mount. David Barron's Oscar Pepper looks well treated off a BHB rating of 63 vis-a-vis his all-weather rating and rarely runs a bad race on the turf. He ran well on reappearance from a seven month absence and with talented claimer Phillip Makin aboard, the pair look to have a good chance despite a modest draw. He looks booked for a place. Border Artist ran away with a weak race at Musselburgh and is out under a penalty. He can win again off his mark and should go close in this tougher race. Smith N Allan Oils and Scramble have both attempted to land gambles recently and have been thwarted in the process. Locally trained Cryfield rarely runs a bad race while Jordan's Elect has been winning over further. Northern Games is watched on reappearance. A difficult race in which Acomb is nominated as the selection.
