Verdict

Cut in the ground is not good news for many of these, but Dawn Surprise has the best form on offer and we take her to score, with Vicious Warrior and Wizard Of Noz to follow her home. The selection receives her allowances from the others and despite not having performed in the ground before, it will take a good performance to thwart her. This trip clearly suits, and she does get further, so if it becomes a battle she will not be stopping. Godolphin haven't had a winner here from two runners this campaign, but this can be third time lucky. Vicious Warrior is the one who is suited by some cut, having at least won a race on good to soft at Ripon a couple of seasons back. Those wanting to take on the selection will perhaps note that, and as he gets further than a mile they will also fancy him in a scrap. However, he has a bit to find at these weights, despite having age on his side, and he may have to settle for second again. Of the others, Wizard Of Noz drops to this class for the first time, and after competing well enough in better company he definitely merits respect, but on balance he faces a stiffish task giving away almost a stone, and so the selection for us is Dawn Surprise.
