Verdict
An ordinary maiden where Askwith may provide the answer, while Secret History and Robinzal look set to go well. Askwith shaped as though there would be a fair bit more to come when looking green on debut at Newcastle last month, but still finishing within three lengths of the winner. Now he has the benefit of that experience, James Bethell's gelding can show us his true worth and he will not have to improve too much to take this. Secret History has already had three chances and is performing consistently enough, but so far he has not improved. The step up in trip should help with that, while he will also handle the cut well enough, but he is just overlooked again on this occasion. Of the remainder, Robinzal shaped up nicely last time out over course and distance, when third behind Thunderwing in similar conditions. The runner up that day has since come out and run well again, so with more to come from the Easterby charge he can go close. However, Askwith looks to have a bit more scope and can land this prize.
