In depth
Verdict
Mokaraba looks the obvious call in this maiden with Highest Return and High Kick rated as the main dangers. The selection has been knocking on the door of late and was only narrowly beaten by Alpine Gold last time. The step-up in trip should suit and she looks to have a leading chance. Highest Return hails from the Mark Johnston yard and has to be respected, but he has been a little disappointing on his two runs to date and he has plenty to prove before we will support him. High Kick is a half-brother to the Derby winner High-Rise and he has shown promise in a couple of bumpers, and he is certainly worth noting in the market for his debut on the level. Golden Odyssey is another interesting newcomer worth noting in the market, but for the winner we return to Mokaraba.
