In depth
Verdict
Lancastrian Jet can make the most of his stamina again to beat the likes of Young Tomo, Freedom Fighter and The Granby. Lancastrian Jet has been a grand servant to Henry Daly over the years, and although in the twilight of his career, still has what it takes judged on his hunter chase debut at Hereford three weeks ago. He did not beat much in truth but is still well treated compared to his best form and goes particularly well on a right-handed track. He was down to run at Sandown at the weekend but this easier opportunity was obviously too much to resist and he can add to a previous course and distance success at the Northants track. Young Tomo has been costly to follow for this correspondent in the past, but the former Howard Johnson inmate may find his niche in this sphere, and lines up having once again cost his supporters dearly in a point-to-point recently. The Granby was a winner between the flags 18 days ago though and Freedom Fighter will be fit enough having run on the same day. All of their form pails into insignificance though compared to Lancastrian Jet who should be safely steered to victory by Marc Barber.
