In depth
Verdict
Not the best of getting out stakes with quite a few debutantes to contend with, so only a tentative vote goes to Terminology over Lord Olympia and newcomers Alfloriano and Tschiertschen. Kim Bailey had a bumper winner that was well backed only recently and so any moves in the ring for Terminology would certainly be significant. The well-bred six-year-old shaped well when fourth on his Uttoxeter debut in heavy ground two months ago and the experience will not be lost on him. Dangers abound though, amongst them Lord Olympia, sixth in a Grade 2 bumper at Chepstow in December and whose pedigree screams stamina. His stable are in form as well so it would be no surprise were he to go close. Field of Blue comes from a small stable that knows the time of day in this sphere so he should be noted in the betting, while a couple of unraced animals are of interest, notably Tschiertschen and Alfloriano. The latter is from a resurgent yard and is sure to have been well schooled, while Tschiertschen, named after a Swiss ski resort, has a very shrewd trainer indeed. So, an interesting finale with an eye to the future, and one in which Terminology is the selection.
