Verdict
Kemals Council could surprise his stablemate favourite in this competitive National Trial. He ran well in success last time out and his form stands up well over his brief career. With the benefit of a professional jockey on board today he should get the better of his mainly older rivals. Indeed his biggest danger could be six-year-old Jurancon II who put up a decent rating when winning last time out at this track and has targeted this race all season. He seems to be one of the few horses who does not seem to improve for McCoy and today's jockey rode him to victory last time out. Bobby Grant is a credit to his trainer and seems better than ever based on his effort at Haydock. He may be harshly handicapped and may have to wait another day for more success though there will be no lack of effort.
