    Verdict

A desperate affair summed up by the fact that Neworld and Scoppio Del Carro are only platers yet are among the joint top weights. Old Magic has the most impressive recent form figures but needs much softer going and has been climbing the ratings without winning. Max The Minister is dropped in trip and tried in blinkers after disappointing the last twice while Peadar Miguel ran poorly on his comeback on the Flat. Auto Mac narrowly beat Rose Red here last July but was only fourth a couple of weeks later and hasn't been seen since. CELTIC ARTISAN is a far-from-confident selection but Bridget Andrews did win on him at Huntingdon last year and he is only 2lb higher – he hinted at a revival last time at Sedgefield.
