In depth

Verdict

Lough Rynn may be the answer to this tricky handicap with Ballinruane and Galaxia amongst others worthy of consideration. The selection is well handicapped on his old form and showed encouraging signs that his ability may still be intact when finishing second on debut for this yard last month. He's entitled to come on for that run, will handle the conditions and Choc Thornton is always a positive booking for the yard. Galaxia has gone up by 8lbs for his course and distance win but he doesn't have many miles on the clock and reportedly shows plenty at home so that may not prove to be prohibitive. Ballinruane also showed up well here last time when second over two and a half miles; he's bred to get a trip so this first attempt at three miles could bring about further improvement but he does have a little to prove on faster ground. Others worthy of mention include Earcomesannie, Festival King and Caught In Time along with Huckleberry, Perly Spencer and Mister Chatterbox who are all making their chase debuts this afternoon. An interesting heat in which Lough Rynn is the tentative selection.
