In depth
Verdict
Arnold Layne can make the most of the weight that he receives from Vingis Park, Noun De La Thinte and Noir Et Vert. Arnold Layne was hugely impressive on his bumper debut at Bangor in April, hacking up to the tune of 17 lengths, and although the quality of the opposition is open to question, his breeding is not. By Roselier out of a Strong Gale mare, he is related to quite a few winners, and is sure to have been well schooled already. He has the scope to make up into a very useful hurdler, and can lower the colours of Vingis Park. The latter has bags of experience, but it took him until his 16th career outing before finally coming good at Aintree last month when first-time blinkers were applied. Venetia Williams has her string in cracking form at present and so Noun De La Thinte should improve on what she showed on her British debut at Towcester last month. Noir Et Vert will improve for his reappearance at Carlisle where he cut out most of the running until tiring three out. Those mentioned can all be found suitable opportunities, but for now they have it to do to beat Arnold Layne.
