In depth

Verdict

A wide-open bumper rounds off the card and, as usual in these events, the market will be all important. The principal players look to be Promise To Be Good, Seymar Lad and Erins Love and the vote is given to Promise To Be Good. The selection was a good second on his debut behind Glasker Mill and he is sure to have come on for the run. Under similar conditions here he will be hard to beat. Seymar Lad won in good style last time out but this looks a much more competitive race and he may struggle under his penalty. So he is passed over on this occasion. Erins Love is a well-bred sort from a top yard and is worth noting in the market. Barton Legend is another that ran well on his debut despite running green. He did give the impression he would be suited by a longer trip, though. Of the remainder: Mars Rock is another well bred sort from a yard that does well in this sphere, so has place claims. However, in a race where the market may well tell all, for the winner we return to Promise To Be Good who looks sure to improve.
