Verdict
Big Wheel only got as far as the eighth fence on his reappearance but is so well treated on hurdling form that the Nicky Richards-trained gelding looks worth chancing in a race where Native Daisy and Danish Decorum are rated the main dangers. The selection has not looked a natural over the larger obstacles but the nine-year-old should strip fitter for his return and, granted a clear round, may be able to open his account over fences off what looks a favourable mark. Native Daisy races off the same mark as when a seven-length second behind the well treated Princess Grec at Worcester last month and has to be respected, along with recent Newton Abbot second Sacrifice. Gue Au Loup and Danish Decorum have claims if their jumping holds up but preference is for another unreliable conveyance Big Wheel, who it is hoped can finally translate his hurdles form over the larger obstacles.
