This race is likely to be a good old fashioned slog in the mud, and that should suit Young Lorcan down to the ground, so he gets out vote ahead of Touch Of Ebony, Hanover Square and Audiostreedotcom. Touch Of Ebony was in contention when falling at the last at Ludlow last time, and had earlier fared well in the mud when second at this course. However, he is yet to prove himself over this three mile trip and with 11-12 to carry things will not be easy for him. Hanover Square is not the most consistent of geldings, and has stuttered over fences recently, but Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge is a thorough stayer who could be given a chance on some of his earlier form over timber. Audiostreedotcom is another who fell last time out, but has claims on some of his form before that, although he is another who has yet to prove he stays three miles. That cannot be said for Young Lorcan, who has twice run well over fences here recently, including a length defeat of Buzybakson over three miles last time. Relatively lightly-raced over timber, he did win a novices event at Sedgefield three years ago and looks well treated on his return to timber. In receipt of a stone from his main rivals and with his ability to handle the conditions not in doubt, the selection then goes to Young Lorcan.
