Verdict
From a shortlist containing Mahmjra, South O' The Border and Summer Charm, we just give the vote to Mahmjra. Mahmjra has improved this season and, even though he has been raised seven pounds for a Southwell win, he has still to be considered here. Summer Charm actually beat the selection by one-and-three-quarter lengths when they were first and third at Southwell in April and is now two pounds better off at the weights, so that gives her a clear chance, although maybe Mahmjra has the greater scope. Bulwark and Figaro's Quest are both blinkered for the first time and both are reasonably rated, while Roman Army is another that could prove, in time, to be well weighted. However, a bigger threat might come from South O' The Border, whose second to Planet at Windsor rates as a solid effort. Arch Folly and Jamaican were behind him in that Windsor maiden and he can confirm the placings again. Beauchamp Twist might prove best of the rest as she showed a bit of improvement last time. However, for the winner, we will just side with Mahmjra.
