In depth
Verdict
Expect improvement from Counterclaim and Striving who both represent powerful outfits, however Divine Power should appreciate the extra distance today and Ralph Beckett's charge gets our vote. The selection was dropped back to five furlongs last time out but despite not getting the clearest of runs, he never really looked like landing a telling blow. Whilst his pedigree is a mixture of speed and stamina, he shapes as if this trip will suit and is fancied to land this maiden. Counterclaim was easily dismissed on his debut however he ran as if the race would bring him on significantly, both physically and mentally, and he should go well, whilst Striving was an expensive purchase but may not be seen to best effect until next year. newcomers Ginger Fountain, Berry Baby, La Coveta and Silver Diamond all need a check in the betting for market support, whilst Lady Docker, Broken Moon, and Saratee should all come on for their debut outings. At a price, don't rule out Swanky Lady who may appreciate this longer trip and this better ground, however it is Divine Power who is fancied to win.
