In depth
Verdict
Salut Saint Cloud showed much improved form for the step up to two miles for the first time at Chepstow last week and is taken to defy the 6lb penalty at the main expense of Bojangles and Banningham Blaze. The last mentioned is a consistent performer and ran up to his best at Chepstow on Friday when second in a claimer. However, Tony Carroll's filly may find this coming a bit quick and is not a certain stayer anyway. Andy Turnell's Academy does stay but is on along losing sequence and is proving expensive to follow. Oops has been thereabouts in similar contests of late and is entitled to be so again today although a bigger threat may come from Bojangles. The five-year-old is only 4lbs higher than when scoring at Newbury two starts ago but enters un-chartered territory in terms of the trip today and may be best watched. Gary Moore's Salut Saint Cloud was tackling two miles for the first time when running out the eight-length winner a week ago though and, while there may have been some non-stayers in opposition that day, he is hard to oppose.
