Verdict
Sonny Santino has an obvious chance here and is hard to oppose in a race where Meaningful and Veneto rate the main dangers. The selection has shown a similar level of form in both starts so far, latterly when chasing home subsequent Coventry Stakes winner Two Clubs at Newmarket and a reproduction should suffice. El Capitan is held by the selection on running at headquarters but that was his debut run and he may finish closer today. Stablemate Sands Of Barra showed promise first time out but needs to improve and of more interest may be Mark Johnston's Meaningful, who can be expected to improve on his first effort behind Leo at Doncaster. The newcomer Veneto looks to be the pick of Mick Channon's two runners but he will need to be useful to get he better of Sonny Santino, who gets the vote to give Richard Hannon a welcome winner with a two-year-old.
