Verdict
Type One looks worth another chance after a fair second to Proud Native last time and is taken to go one better at the main expense of two eight-year-olds, Alpen Wolf and Yorkies Boy. The selection won in claiming company on the all-weather at Lingfield on his return to action last month and lost no caste in defeat behind the well-treated Prod Native in similar company at Sandown last time. That represents the best form on offer here and the Terry Mills-trained gelding is taken to gain compensation. Now that Willie Muir's stable has hit form, Alpen Wolf has to be respected, while Yorkies Boy should appreciate the drop in class having been campaigned in decent handicaps of late. However, he is on a long losing sequence and is difficult to recommend. Stable companion Fly More is probably better over shorter and a bigger threat may come from the Michael Jarvis-trained Pinchbeck, who is another that has faced stiff tasks in handicaps of late.
