Verdict

This is an interesting race of its kind and it might just go to Bertiebanoo, with Whitford Don, Society Buck, Roman Court and Chateau Rose possibly proving best of the rest. The selection beat Hawk's Landing at Plumpton in December and may have needed his most-recent outing, his first since that outing. With his rider taking a useful three pounds off his back, he might be worth taking a chance on. Whitford Don looks modest but has shown enough on his last couple of outings to suggest he could bag some money. Similar comments can be attributed to Roman Court. Turtle Recall has been placed on the Flat but has so far shown nothing in two hurdle runs. Society Buck will appreciate the step up in trip and don't be surprised to see him run well. Lambrini Bianco has not progressed from his Bangor bumper win. Finzi might fare better if the going is not testing. Chateau Rose, whose sole win to date came over fences, was noted staying on at Sandown last time so is another that could go well. Baron Windrush has shown only a modicum of promise in two runs to date but, now stepping up in trip, might improve. Overall, though, we'll side with Bertiebanoo.
