Verdict
Noel Chance is a rare visitor to Wetherby and the hint should be taken with Direct Flight, who is preferred over Bourgeois, a very useful recruit from the Flat, and Graphic Approach, who was a smooth winner at Hereford on his seasonal debut last time. Special Rate, Sacrebleu and Society Affair are others to monitor when the betting market opens in earnest and each way support for any will be very interesting. However, Direct Flight has the typical profile of an improver from the Chance team and he arrives here on the back of a very respectable effort behind Overstrand at Market Rasen last November. The son of Dry Dock had previously hinted at his worth when coolly landing a bumper on his debut and remains one to keep on the right side of whatever happens today. It is also interesting to note that the Lambourn-based trainer is likely to be stepping up a gear with his string from now an early strike with Direct Flight could be imminent.
