Verdict
There seems to be little doubt that Great As Gold has a better future over the jumps than he does on the Flat but he may find a more progressive rival here in the shape of the New Zealand-bred One Day - although the riding instructions for Real Shady will surely have received an alteration after Tom Greenhall left it too late to get serious with him when he held every chance of victory at Carlisle last week. However, they will all have to be on their metal to get past One Day at the finish, as he won as he liked on his British debut and could be anything. He didn't appear to have any stamina questions to answer and looks to be one to keep on the right side of for now.
