Verdict
Not too much help from the formbook so the betting will provide the major clues as to the outcome of this contest. Nigel Twiston-Davies infrequently visits the course with bumper horses and we will take the hint with Scotch Corner. The son of Jurado races in the famous Mould colours and with the likes of Barton Bank previously landing prizes around here, the owners are no strangers to hitting the high notes at the West Yorkshire track. Heather Dalton does saddle the only winner in the contest with ex-pointer Novel Idea. This one is likely to be well forward in both his appearance and the betting market. Hot Air hails from a shrewd yard and is noted in the market. Mick Easterby is to be feared at Wetherby and he is represented by Now And Again. The Shaamit gelding was backed before a disappointing run at Market Rasen and should be capable of much better second time around. In a tough race, Scotch Corner is given the tentative nod.
