Verdict
Alan King has been extremely patient with Windross and we believe his patience will be rewarded with victory in the nightcap. The eleven-year-old has had more than his fair share of problems but when he appears at the racecourse, he looks to have a touch of class about him and he should be capable of landing this competitive finale. Lucky Bay enjoyed a fair degree of success with Paul Nicholls before leaving to join his wife, Bridget. He was good at bullying weak novices in that division and handicaps against the big boys should prove the acid test of his abilities. Hunters Tweed is frustrating yet talented. The ground should be sound enough for him provided that he doesn't blunder his chances with the odd indifferent leap. Indian Scout's best form is in smaller fields. An infrequent visitor to the track due to a whole host of injuries and ailments; his chances will be reflected by the odds on offer. Ex-Tom Taafe performer, Merchants Friend takes a step up in class but probably needs more rain to produce his best form. King's Bounty is off a nice racing weight and has each-way potential. We will stick with the class act in the field and will make Windross our selection on this occasion.
