Verdict
Fantastico is the selection in an interesting juvenile affair, with Jake Black, Emerging Star and Travello others worthy of a mention. This race may throw up one or two outsiders for the Triumph Hurdle, and Fantastico certainly appeals after two promising efforts so far. It took a long time for her to open her account on the Flat when trained by Sylvester Kirk, but she showed when humping top weight to victory finally at Folkestone that she would have no trouble carrying such burdens over jumps. Having looked in need of a more searching stamina test when third on her Huntingdon debut, Karen Walton's fill showed that she does have what it takes over two miles when touched off by Jake Black at Newcastle. She meets her conqueror on fully nine-pound better terms due to John Quinn's charge shouldering a penalty, and that should be more than enough for her to turn the tables. Emerging Star emerged with credit when third to strong Triumph fancy Howle Hill at Wetherby, and although well held, should be more than capable of opening his account soon. Tim Easterby saddles two runners, and with Russ Garritty on board Kentucky Blue, we can assume that he is more preferred than Silver Coin. Travello makes the journey over from Germany, and with Tony McCoy booked, we can assume that something is expected of him, although he was a maiden on the Flat. With plenty going for her, Fantastico has a first-rate chance of obliging.
