In depth
Verdict
A terrific line up for the feature event with Kadarann, Armaturk and Cenkos all with the experience and ability to run well, however Well Chief was one of last season's top novices and he can land yet another big prize for the Martin Pipe stable. This son of Night Shift ended a marvellous campaign with a brilliant victory in the Arkle at Cheltenham and has made a very pleasing start to the new season. He went down by just a head to the fitter Arrmaturk at Cheltenham ion November before finishing a close up third to Moscow Flyer in the Tingle Creek at Sandown. Those two efforts should have put him spot on for this and he will be very hard to beat. Kadarann, a stablemate of Arrmaturk, has to shoulder top-weight this afternoon and on a line through Azertyuiop has it all to do against the selection. However he does love it round here as he proved when landing this event twelve months ago, and it would be no surprise to see him in the shake up again. Cenkos made too many mistakes to be a threat in the Tingle Creek but comes into the reckoning on his best form and looks the best of the others. So a superb renewal and Well Chief should be up to landing first prize
