In depth

Verdict

A real puzzle for the final race on the card and we will take a chance on Don't Tell Jr, with Gaye Dream and Soviet Society put forward as two likely dangers. This relatively lightly raced ten-year-old returned from a very long break to chase home Broadbrook Lass in a decent handicap chase at Fakenham last time and he looks on a very fair mark on his return to hurdling. If he doesn't "bounce", he should prove difficult to beat. Gaye Dream contested a slightly better event than this at Wincanton last time and did well to finish second to Starlight Express, if that wasn't just a flash in the pan, he should be in there fighting at the finish. Soviet Society represents a stable in cracking form and although he has shown very little so far, does get in here on a very reasonable mark and should be watched in the market. Pottsy's Joy and Another Promise are two others to consider in a wide open event but the value bet here could be Don't Tell Jr
