In depth

Verdict

It's two years since ORNUA won the Grade 1 Maghull Novices' Chase at Aintree and he hasn't won since. But he's been mixing it with the best and led for a long way in a Fairyhouse Grade 2 on Monday. Dr Mikey was returning from a very long break when well beaten in a three-runner race over hurdles at Leopardstown last month and doesn't have much experience over fences. Great Khan is 0-19 over fences though may have lost his maiden tag but for a last-fence blunder at Thurles last month so has to be a threat. Bay Hill has been a prolific winner on the Flat and over hurdles and, though only scoring once over fences, he ran well in a similar race at Navan last time. Fine Theatre won a similar race here a year ago with Kitten Rock fourth though the ground was very heavy that day.
