In depth

Verdict

Hiers De Brouage ran a sound race behind Bush Park at Chepstow and is taken to lower the colours of Tresor Preziniere and Ambience Lady. Johnny Portman's charge is a previous winner over course and distance and the handicapper has not raised him since that effort at Chepstow. Tresor Preziniere is sure to be popular through the Philip Hobbs connection. He has sruggled to find his feet since arriving at the Hobbs yard from France and looks one to watch until significant improvement is demonstrated. Ambience Lady rarely runs a bad race but invariably seems to find one too good. Unfortunately for connections her consistency has cut little ice with handicapper. Just Reuben seems to reserve his best for fast ground - something of a quirk given his sire is Roselier. He has it to do against better opposition and off a career high mark. Having considered the alternatives we believe that Hiers De Brouage is the one to be with.
